When I feel down during this seemingly endless pandemic, creating art can be my antidote. My illustrator friend, Blue (@BlueFlynn), was giddy with delight when her boyfriend bestowed upon her a write-and-erase robot that creates wall murals. Scribit takes a custom sketch, created on a computer and plots it out with markers on a flat surface, such as a bedroom wall. From that point, one can fill in the sketch to their liking using a variety of mediums.

Watch Scribit in action.

For years I have not been able to find art to hang on my bedroom wall. Friends have nudged me to be more decisive and suggested that I create art for my wall. Finally, the opportunity came via the Scribit.

Blue and I brainstormed what might be suitable for my wall. For those of you acquainted with my twisted sense of humor, rest assured the artwork will not be banal or trendy. I loathe anything that is part of the disingenuous, phony, fake-positivity, brainwashed, cult-like contingent that embraces hashtags such as: #FeelingBlessed, #ThinkPositive and #LoveYourself

Whatevs. I would rather be #FeelingPissed.  Hashtagging the shit out of positive messaging does zero to uplift my spirit. Sarcasm and cynicism on the other hand do wonders to supercharge my soul.

So what did two quirky, ridiculous, cynical artists settle on designing? Well you will have to watch the video to find out, but I will give you a taste:

  • It involves Miss Piggy and Kermit engaging in BDSM (Bondage, Domination and Submission)
  • Drunk, gambling rodents
  • A surly, animated bottle of gin that resembles disgruntled, former Trump administration security advisor John Bolton.
Disgruntled security advisor John Bolton who could easily be mistaken for a cartoon owl who works as a history professor at a Catholic college.

This video is one in a series of 3. Put down what you are doing and watch this. It is hilarious and will put a smile on your face. I PROMISE. And who knows, maybe you will want to replicate something similar in your home. If you do, Blue is one DM away on her Instagram.
